Medicine Department
Medicine is associated with the sefirah of Tiferet (please see the arrangement of the ten sefirot, or Partzuf, in our home page). In Kabbalah, tiferet is referred to as the “the body of man”, and the root of the word tiferet,
permutes into the root
, "to heal". The sefirah of tiferet combines the love of the sefirah of "hesed with the restrain of the sefirah of gevurah", thus attaining the healing balance that harmonizes diverging and often competing energies. Tiferet works to help the body achieve an internal equilibrium, a goal that is central to the pursuit of the healing sciences.
Papers presented in this section will explore the interface between the medical sciences and the wisdom of Kabbalah and Hasidic philosophy, and will seek to develop useful healing models.
